Hannah Travers joined the Art School in 2018 originally as Development and External Relations Manager. Her work on a wide range of very successful development projects, including the funding for the establishment of studios and labs for the new Book & Paper Conservation courses and the new studios for MA Fine Art, led to her promotion to Head of Development and External Relations. This senior management role sees Hannah leading on strategic planning for fundraising and external events as well as the development of collaborations and graduate engagement. Recent successes include the Art School’s Covid Recovery Appeal and establishing funding for a new outreach and widening participation programme, including the launch of a National Saturday Club for 13-16 year olds. As well as her outward facing role Hannah has a positive impact on the curriculum, for example she has worked to transform the Art School’s approach to live projects to ensure more rounded professional learning for students in all aspects of work to commission and has delivered sessions for students on professional practice related to social media and profile building.

Hannah has a BA (Hons) History & Philosophy of Art from University of Kent and spent eight years at White Cube gallery. Her role involved working closely with collectors and artists such as Jake & Dinos Chapman, Harland Miller and Eddie Peake as well as representing the gallery at Art Fairs in London, Basel and Hong Kong. Hannah is a trustee of Hypha Studios, a charity matching creatives with empty spaces & regenerating the high street with exhibitions, cultural hubs & events for local communities.
