Nativity scene, St.Peter's Church, Vauxhall
Second year Conservation students spent the Autumn term restoring the polychrome plaster figures of a nativity scene belonging to St.Peter's Church, Vauxhall.
The set of figures depicting the nativity scene have been in active use for over a century but many of the figures were damaged to the point that they had become unusable. They originally date back to the old St Mary-at-Lambeth Parish Church (now The Garden History Museum and adjacent to the original site of the Lambeth School of Art from which the School originated). The figures were re-used, for the first time in many years, in December 2009.
