Harriet Piercy (MA 2011) chosen as Artist In Residence at the Watercolours + Works on Paper Fair 2012
The Fair runs 2 – 5 February 2012 within the Science Museum, South Kensington, London, see www.worksonpaperfair.com for further information.
The residency gives a recent art school graduate the chance to create “a visual blog” from the fair, to capture its spirit and record forgotten moments. The project focuses on drawing. Harriet will work in the space from the moment the team come on site and take over the empty galleries, witnessing the stand builders at work and exhibitors hanging their pictures. She will draw within the fair whilst the public are visiting, discussing the pictures with dealers and making purchases.
Harriet was selected by a panel of judges comprising Richard Cork, art critic; Linda Blackstone, art dealer; Heather Mayfield, Deputy Director of the Science Museum and Lucy Russell, Watercolours + Works on Paper Fair Director
This year’s residency project with London’s City & Guilds Art School follows the Fair’s successful collaboration with the Prince’s Drawing School in 2011.
