The Annual Competition of the British Art Medal Society
In January and February 2009, first year fine art sculpture students did a bronze casting project in which they each made a bronze 'art medal', for submission to the British Art Medal Society's annual competition for fine art students.
A selection of the medals submitted by fine art students from across the UK, and from the Univeristy of Nagoya in Japan, are currently on show in an exhibition titled 'Art on the Edge: Exploring the Modern Medal' at the Royal Cornwall Museum in Truro, Cornwall (the exhibition runs from April 4 until May 30 2009).
