Clients include organizations such as The National Trust, English Heritage, Cadw and Historic Royal Palaces and individuals as diverse as Lord Leicester and Mick Jagger. Alan has acted as an advisor to the Victoria & Albert Museum, Historic Scotland, Tate Britain, The Globe Theatre, and the BBC amongst others
In recent years he has specialized in the conservation and restoration of ornamental carving and figurative historic sculpture in a variety of materials and in the design and creation of new sculpture for contextually sensitive locations.

Broadcasting
Alan was chosen to play the sculptor Rodin in” The Kiss”, a program in BBC 2’s private life of a masterpiece series, and was filmed creating a series of maquettes from life in Rodin’s style. He presented “Uppark Restored” In the National Trust Treasure Chest Series for BBC 2 and has recently presented a short film on the restoration of Edward 1 bedchamber in the Mediaeval Royal Palace at the Tower of London.
