Helen Wilks is a narrative painter interested in the psychological interactions between persons, whether intimate or theatrical in complexion. It is the realm of the 'ordinary' that interests her most

 Helen Wilks (b.1950) studied fine art (painting) at Bath Academy of Art (1966-9) and at the University of Reading (1970-1). In 1995 she gained an MCGI in Fine Art.  During the winter of 05/06 she was a resident artist at the Albers Foundation in Bethany, Connecticut. In 2007, The Inhabited Space panorama was exhibited at the Yale Center for British Art, New Haven, USA for the conference “New Perspectives on Panoramas” and in 2009 she will exhibit some new works at Latinarte in Madrid.  In 2008 she produced an artist book Figments with Pulcinoelefante Edizioni in Osnago, Italy.
