Born in Germany, Sabine's decision to embark on a career as a conservator goes back to a visit to Gdansk, in Poland, where Sabine saw the destroyed city's impressive conservation and reconstruction efforts.
Sabine studied History of Art, German Literature and Philosophy at undergraduate level, and then completed her MA in 1989. Sabine then worked in the art trade.
Now based in London (with a family of three children), Sabine joined the course in 2008. Sabine enjoyed working on 18th century gilded furniture during her Summer 2009 placement at Carvers & Guilders, a London-based conservation, restoration and new commissions workshop specialising in fine woodcarving and gilding.
