I am curious about events, which enter onto the un-encountered. Before knowledge informs us, vision offers us a snatch of what we imagine up as real, yet nothing feels more real than our imagination. In my films, I aim to open onto a figural space not anticipated by any assumptions. I make my gesture towards the event neither, defined, or spoken, which makes an appearance before our eyes.Starting with the first instance, seeing is, believing. I use colour to break down the code, which identifies objects and entities. My aim is to entice the look of engagement, the visual grasp a moment before identification in order to take the gaze of the viewer to somewhere unseen.Using he continuum of film I am exploring the cycle of the magic lantern. My subject matter is, encountered, in the natural environment where I make films, which occur in real time.
