The stove is a solid object, functional and inanimate until the blue flames of the gas burst out.
My work is a passionate evocation an exploration of the kitchen, its emotional resonance's both in relation to the self, comfort, nurture, centre of the home, gas as a source of power and impact on the environment.
Scientific words like Caloric are the hob and stove without the frying pan. Action is the first igniting burst of energy catalysing the particles and molecules into a spherical shaped lift, like the budding of a rose or the build of a nest.
This lift/exponential growth expands the gas upwards because of gravity.
