While learning the skills and techniques of stone carving I have also discovered new ways to relate to the creative and representational objects of the past.

I have been inspired through my struggle to achieve a meaningful balance between the hands-on process of carving - using traditional techniques and materials, and questions posed by the dilemma of what sculpture might be in the 21st century.
