The main reason that I came to City & Guilds was to develop carving skills to supplement my sculpture work. I would now like to use these new skills on a freelance and commission basis as well as continuing with my own fine art practice.I'm hoping to work on portraits and figurative work and have a strong interest in ecclesiastical carving. In addition I would like to design and carve some public and private monument works. I'm interested in how we honour lives and mark achievements in this form.My initial studies were in Fine Art & I have also planned a series of sculptures which I will develop using stone mixed with materials such as bronze and porcelain and cast 'found objects'. The interplay of different materials has been a constant interest in my sculptural work and I look forward to seeing where I can take this with stone.
