Library

The current holdings consist of 5,500 volumes, 750 artists’ films and cinema titles, 1400 slides and 30 art and conservation journal subscriptions. Specialist subject areas include our object based conservation collection.

A generous budget is set aside for the purchase of new acquisitions, to ensure that the latest artists’ monographs, current exhibition catalogues and new conservation publications are always available.

The library provides an in-house internet and laser-print facility in addition to a colour photocopying service for the purposes of research and reproduction. The Librarian is able to recommend various other specialist research facilities and libraries in and around London & guide students to particular course-related information.

At present in collaboration with the Drawing department we are making our 19th century Architecture and Ornament folios collection more accessible.

Staff and students alike are encouraged to make acquisition suggestions to the librarian and therefore the library plays an integral role in supporting studio practice and pursues a strong commitment to diversify and fulfil the day to day needs within the school.
