David Luard

David Luard is Historic Timber Consultant to the London DAC. He is a freelance Conservator specialising in woodwork of the 16th and 17th centuries with a particular emphasis on carving by Grinling Gibbons. David Luard also undertakes in situ conservation of pre-1800 plaster ceilings. Most of his work takes place on site as the objects are usually part of a building.


The Wood Awards, Luard Conservation won the ‘Conservation Award’ and the ‘Gold Award’ in 2011 for its work at Stoke Newington Town Hall Council Chamber.
