JOB VACANCY: Art Histories Sessional Tutor

The City & Guilds of London Art School is seeking to expand its Art Histories team by recruiting a sessional lecturer to join our thriving Art Histories Department. The Art School has a particular focus on skills-based teaching and a commitment to cultivate knowledge and curiosity in both the historical and contemporary contexts of our subjects. All of our courses include contextual Art Histories and History of Ideas programmes that employ London’s Museums and galleries as a crucial resource for regular targeted study trips. More recently we have pioneered a new MA Art & Material Histories and a cross course and outward facing programme, Material Matters, that further enriches our research.

We are seeking experienced lecturers who can actively and positively engage in and contribute to the Art School’s community and join us in our mission. You will have a proven track record of teaching excellence in Higher Education with the depth of knowledge and research skills to contribute to our programmes.  You will have a knowledge and understanding of recent debates within the subject area as well as an interest in contemporary art and its materials. Ability to engage with students from a wide range of backgrounds is essential as is fluency in IT with a working knowledge of Moodle or a similar VLE.
