Graduate Diploma Arts: Mosaics
1
a

Created in collaboration with team members from the former London School of Mosaic, this course celebrates a unique commitment to craft, heritage and contemporary making and will be the UK’s only higher education-level qualification in mosaic.

The course offers a distinctive pathway for artists and makers to explore mosaic as a contemporary artform deeply rooted in tradition.

Students will develop their creative voice through hands on work, from cutting and setting tesserae to experimenting with scale, texture, colour and composition. Grounded in craft and emphasising practical, material exploration, using both traditional and modern tools and materials, the Graduate Diploma invites students to see mosaic as a space where fine art and architecture intersect and storytelling comes alive.

The Diploma is a Level 6 award, an equivalent level to the final year of a BA (Hons) course and might share some learning activities with those students or with students at other levels. It is not an alternative to a full BA; most applicants for the Graduate Diploma will already have a first degree, equivalent training or existing experience in a closely related discipline.

Please note that this course is still subject to validating body approval.
