Our Foundation Diploma in Art and Design is an intensive, studio-based course for students preparing for degree-level study and careers in the creative industries. Based within our historic Art School in central London, students have dedicated studio space, access to specialist workshops and facilities and teaching from practising artists and designers.
The programme brings together practical skills, critical enquiry and creative thinking, giving you the time, space and expert teaching to explore a broad range of disciplines, materials and processes and discover your own creative direction.
The course develops from structured projects and workshops towards increasingly independent and specialist practice, supported by contextual research and critical reflection. As your interests develop, you will define your own practice, culminating in an independently directed final project and end-of-year exhibition.
This broad, interdisciplinary approach supports progression across subjects including fine art, visual communication, illustration, 3D design, fashion and textiles, and other creative disciplines.
