City & Guilds of London Art School is delighted to announce a new collaboration with Orsoni, the historic Venetian mosaic manufacturer, in support of our new Graduate Diploma Arts: Mosaics.
Orsoni will provide the Art School with a selection of its renowned smalti, richly coloured glass traditionally used in mosaic making, for students to work with during teaching and demonstrations. The collaboration will give students the opportunity to experiment with a broad range of colours and materials as they develop their skills and creative practice.
Based in Venice and producing glass mosaics since 1888, Orsoni is internationally renowned for its traditional production of Venetian smalti and gold mosaics, with its materials used by artists and mosaicists around the world.
We are very grateful to Orsoni for their generous support and look forward to developing the collaboration as our new Mosaics department grows.
