The MA Fine Art at City & Guilds of London Art School is an intensive and rigorous programme that challenges you to interrogate and expand your artistic practice through critical research, experimentation, and sustained studio work. Whether you’re a recent Fine Art graduate or returning to study after professional experience in the arts or related fields, the course offers a supportive yet demanding environment in which to develop a distinctive, self-directed body of work.
You’ll work alongside a diverse cohort of artists, guided by tutors who are active practitioners and thinkers. We encourage you to take risks, test new ideas, and critically examine the contextual, material and conceptual frameworks that underpin your practice. The course culminates in an exhibition that reflects the depth and ambition of your work, and consistently demonstrates the transformative journey our students undertake.
MA Fine Art is part of The Graduate School at City & Guilds of London Art School, a vibrant postgraduate community of artists, carvers and conservators engaged in material exploration, critical discourse and collaborative learning.
This one-year full-time or two-year part-time programme is validated by Arts University Bournemouth.
For students who already have prior training and experience but need to strengthen particular aspects of their practice, we also offer a one-year Graduate Diploma Arts: Fine Art. This is a tailored programme designed to support progression onto the MA, providing focused development in key areas such as technical skills, critical thinking, or research methods.
