On Monday 3 March, Art School students, staff, trustees and members of the public gathered at The Cinema Museum in Kennington to celebrate the launch of our new Graduate School at City & Guilds of London Art School.
The Graduate School encompasses three areas of postgraduate study: MA Carving, MA Conservation, and MA Fine Art. This event, ‘Monuments at Risk’, provided an opportunity to explore discourses that intersect these subject areas, and reflected the cross-disciplinary and collaborative nature of our staff, students, and wider community.
Throughout the afternoon, attendees heard from students, artists, heritage experts and cultural thinkers, who explored the evolving role of the monument through a series of thought-provoking presentations, discussions and debates.
Our deepest thanks to our keynote speakers Larry Achiampong, John Darlington and Dr Nicola Stacey, our student presenters Paul Farmiloe, Jonny Kemp, and Melina Merlin, and panel chairs Sonia Thomas, Nina Bilbey and Charley Peters.
