Peter Logan studied Certificate Historic Carving: Ornamental Woodcarving & Gilding at the Art School, returning to education following a long career as a woodwork technician at Chelsea College of Arts, University of the Arts London. After retiring Peter chose to pursue further study in woodcarving to return to the carving practice he deeply valued and missed in his professional life.

During his time at the Art School, Peter brought a wealth of experience and generosity to his work. He was an engaged and committed student and his enthusiasm for woodcarving was evident throughout his studies. He spoke at our graduating awards ceremony, sharing reflections on his experience and his return to making.

Peter died from cancer aged 74.

His wife shared that he always spoke highly of his time at the Art School. His decision to return to study later in life stands as a testament to his enduring dedication to craft and learning and to the importance of continuing creative practice beyond retirement.

He is remembered with respect and gratitude by the Art School community.
