Back in May, during London Craft Week 2025, we were delighted to welcome Aliénor Cros, the founder of Artfully Crafted, to the Art School. Artfully Crafted is an online platform with the mission to champion craftsmanship and inspire the next generation through meaningful conversations with makers and practitioners.
At City & Guilds of London Art School, we are dedicated to passing on specialist craft skills to new generations of artists and makers through our Foundation, Undergraduate, Postgraduate and short course programmes, and so we were thrilled to host Artfully Crafted for their first visit to an education institution in the series.
Aliénor sat down with our Principal, Dr Lois Rowe, tutors Sarah Davis and Rian Kanduth, and final year BA (Hons) Conservation: Stone, Wood and Decorative Surfaces student Thomas Yeung in a series of insightful interviews about their practices, the processes of their crafts, and the Art School’s approach to teaching and preparing students for careers in the arts.
We warmly encourage you to watch the full video below or on the Artfully Crafted YouTube channel, where you can also enjoy their series of interviews with master makers including many members of our community of alumni such as Jo Grogan, Zoe Wilson, Simon Smith, Clunie Fretton and Stephen Pettifer.
Our deepest thanks to Aliénor and Artfully Crafted for visiting us and for sharing the work of the Art School and our fantastic students and staff with your audience, and for all your work in celebrating craft skills.
