After completing the BA (Hons) Fine Art course our graduates go on to develop successful portfolio careers, working as practising artists alongside work in the creative industries as curators, gallerists, tutors and in other related fields of practice such as design. After studying Fine Art with us you will also be well prepared to continue your studies at Postgraduate level at the leading National and International art schools including our own thriving MA Fine Art course.

Recent Graduates and Alumni from the Art School have been selected for The Bloomberg New Contemporaries, The Catlin Prize, The Threadneedle Prize, The John Moores Painting Prize, The Griffin Prize, Young Gods… as well as being purchased for the Saatchi Collection and many other important private international collections.

After graduation our Fine Art students have progressed to postgraduate study at The Royal College of Art, The Royal Academy, The Slade, Goldsmiths, City & Guilds of London Art School as well as gaining fellowships at The British School in Rome.

In recent years the Art School has been busy developing new opportunities for recent graduates with two new graduate prizes:

City & Guilds of London Art School Studio Award, a year-long residency at Acme studios in Warton House, Stratford. The award is made to a 3rd year Fine Art student based on their degree show by a selection panel and provides a rent free studio space, professional mentoring, a £7000 award and an opportunity to exhibit as part of a group show.

The year-long Decorative Surface Fellowship, a collaboration with the Worshipful Company of Painter-Stainers,  focuses on historic techniques such as gilding, fresco painting, trompe l’oeil and scagliola. It provides a recent Fine Art graduate from the Art School with specialist training in traditional processes, professional mentoring from the Painters-Stainers and a work base at the City & Guilds of London Art School.
