My past work has been abstract based painting, collage and mono-printing using acrylic, pigments and oils on canvas combining textures using a layering process to integrate tones and create depth. Previous work reflected old manuscripts and artefacts. I have continued to explore atypical resources, often recycling materials, which are paper-based or cloth, building up on layers, creating textural wrapping. I use my sketchbooks as a medium reflecting in a sense my own creative metamorphosis, building up a creative continuum transcribed from my reference journal. This has transformed the way I work with a new organic identity towards three-dimensional installations. This has included work connecting ‘book and the body’ in how the spine acts as a supporting role for both.
