We are proud to share our Head of Graduate School Dr Charley Peters has been awarded the Educators’ Trust Award for Excellence in Art & Design Education from the Worshipful Company of Educators.

The Educators’ Trust awards prizes, bursaries and grants to outstanding educators whose innovation and excellence shape learning across all levels, subjects and settings. The Trust is the charitable arm of the Worshipful Company of Educators, one of the 113 Livery Companies of the City of London, dedicated to championing excellence and innovation in education.

Dr Peters’ award recognises her leadership in the design and establishment of our Graduate School, launched in 2025 and now a vibrant hub for interdisciplinary exploration, as well as her wider contributions as an artist, researcher, writer and educator.

Rooted in abstract form, science fiction and post-digital visual culture, her practice informs a teaching philosophy grounded in imagination, critical inquiry and technical excellence. An internationally exhibiting artist and curator, Charley brings exceptional depth of expertise to her role at the Art School. Her commitment to embedding a culture of cross-disciplinary collaboration has created a dynamic new Graduate School community within the Art School, creating opportunities for Carvers, Conservators and Fine Artists to share and shape areas of the curriculum together.

The Educators’ Trust commented: “Her encouragement of cross-disciplinary creativity and critical thinking is exemplary. The intensity and breadth of her educational work are best demonstrated in her engagement with primary schools. Particularly impressive is the digital research bank she has established, where students across programmes may exchange texts, thus enriching their research.

Congratulations to Dr Charley Peters on this outstanding and well-deserved recognition.
