JOB VACANCY: Academic Support Tutor

2 days per week over 30 weeks from the October to June

City & Guilds of London Art School is a vibrant, small-scale, ‘not for profit’ Higher Education provider, offering specialist courses at Postgraduate, Undergraduate and Foundation levels. The Art School has a mission to foster excellence and provides its c 290 students with high levels of contact time with professional artists, crafts experts, historians and conservators.

We are seeking an Academic Support Tutor to work with our Foundation Diploma in Art & Design, BA(Hons) and MA students studying Carving, Conservation and contemporary Fine Art.

As an Academic Support Tutor, you will have the experience and expertise to address the needs of students who require help in overcoming barriers to learning in order to achieve their full potential. Based predominantly in the Art School’s Support Room you will be confident and experienced in working on a one-to-one basis with individual students.

You will be experienced in providing academic support for written assignments, pastoral mentoring to build confidence and in helping students to organize and plan their work and timekeeping.  You will be familiar with writing learning and care plans, keeping records and supporting students to access DSA funding.
